Scott Sasser, Founder and President

Scott Sasser, MD is currently an Associate Professor in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Global Health at Emory University in Atlanta, where his primary focus is on the development of sustainable trauma care and emergency medical systems in low and middle income countries; he has lived and worked extensively in healthcare in the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Dr. Sasser currently directs the global health efforts for the Department of Emergency Medicine and is the recipient of funding from the National Institutes of Health and United States Agency for International Development for his work in Africa and the former Soviet Union.  Dr. Sasser serves as a consultant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and works regularly with the World Health Organization, academic institutions, and other nongovernmental organizations. Scott definitely married up when he caught Kelli, and together they have four wonderful children, Christopher, Anna Grace, Jackson, and Sophia.

Kelli Sasser in Rwanda

Kelli Sasser, Founder and Director of Operations

Kelli has first hand experience of cross-cultural work.  She completed secondary school in Kenya before returning to the US to attend Auburn University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in 1990. After a stint in world of communications consulting, she returned to school and received  her Master’s degree from the University of New Orleans in 1993. She has extensive experience in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and has lived in the Czech Republic, Kenya, and the United Arab Emirates. Kelli is a founding member of One Hundred Days, and has been instrumental in our marketing, creative design, and organizational development. Married to Scott she enjoys being mom, teacher, bus driver, sports fan, nutritional provider, and family leader.

Jim and Linda spent 36 years in full-time ministry serving in Europe, Africa and the United States.  For over 25 years, they served with Campus Crusade for Christ working with students and business leaders across the globe.  In 1996, they left Campus Crusade to form Coram Deo Ministries which allowed them to work among the urban poor in Birmingham, Alabama.  In 2005, they moved to Atlanta, GA to focus their efforts helping One Hundred Days. Jim oversees various operational tasks and focuses on developing mission-related partnerships. Linda contributes primarily through her involvement in the MILLION KID MOVEMENT and by using her writing skills to help with various projects including writing a children’s book based on the lives of Simon and Kedress Nziramakenga.

Marlon and Lisa Brown, Board of Directors

Marlon and Lisa Brown live in Howard County, Maryland with their three sons.  Marlon is an executive in the financial services industry with 20 years of investment management experience. Lisa is a professional counselor/life coach and founder of Ascend Counseling Services.  Marlon and Lisa have both traveled to Rwanda and become personally involved with the work of the Good Shepherd Community Church.

David and Susan Pence, Board of Directors

David is the Creative Director for Video Production at Gilbert Creative – the in-house vendor to The Coca-Cola Company  He oversees projects from idea to finished media.  His production responsibilities with Gilbert, as well as prior to joining the company, have taken David to almost all of the 48 contiguous states, Puerto Rico and 14 foreign countries.  David earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism & Speech at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.  Susan and David met over 20 years ago in their church singles class.  They have 3 girls; Anna, Mary Drayton, and Lily.

Peter Witherell, Board of Directors

Peter is the Director of Planned Giving Resources at the American Cancer Society’s national office in Atlanta, GA.  Prior to his current position, he spent 12 years as vice president for planned giving for the American Cancer Society’s Florida division. A graduate of Florida State University, he has spent a total of 18 years in planned giving. Peter and his wife Kathy live in Norcross, GA with their two children.

Steve and Lee Bradley, Board of Directors

Steve has served for over 20 years as a business, technology, and strategic clarity consultant, working with both large and small businesses, as well as with churches and non-profit organizations.  His education includes a PhD and MDIVBL from Southwestern Seminary, as well as a BA from Georgia State University.  Lee also has an MDIVBL from Southwestern, and a BA from Georgia State.  She and Steve met while in college, and they now have 3 children, Will, Olivia, and Kate.

Gad Nziramakenga, Board of Directors

Gad is originally from Rwanda, where his parents, Simon and Kedress Nziramakenga, lead the Good Shepherd Community Church. He grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, before moving to the US where he attended Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City. He received his BA in Systems Networking Management in 2001, and his graduate degree at Southern Polytechnic University in Business Management in 2009. He is currently studying to become a certified financial Analyst, and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Steve W. Munro, Board of Directors

Dec 18, 1955 – Feb 19, 2010

Steve and Kelly Munro were an instrumental part in the founding of One Hundred Days.  Kelly introduced her husband to the Sasser’s through a neighborhood relationship with Kelli Sasser.  Steve became the designing architect of the Good Shepherd Hospital for Children and served as a key board member for One Hundred Days.  On February 19, 2010, Steve suffered a fatal heart attack while biking with friends.  Steve’s legacy lives on not only in the lives of his family and friends, but also in the walls of the Good Shepherd Hospital for Children.
