Our Story

In 2003 a Rwandan pastor named Simon Nziramkenga was visiting the United States and met with Emory physician, Scott Sasser.  Simon was the head pastor of a church located in Kigali, Rwanda committed to meeting the needs of the local community.  He felt that one of the greatest unmet needs in his community was access to quality healthcare.  Simon was connected to Scott through a long-time family relationship and approached him with the idea to build a hospital.  Out of that conversation One Hundred Days was founded by Scott, his wife Kelli and a group of friends and neighbors in Atlanta.  Although completing the hospital remains our primary focus, the mission of the organization is to build restoration in Rwanda.  We desire to connect with indigenous leaders who will work to bring about physical, spiritual and emotional healing in their communities.
